I had this buckle listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace for about a year, at what I thought was a perfectly reasonable price of €40.
One gentleman offered me €10 for it, and when I didn’t consider that sufficient, he became so annoyed that he resorted to name-calling.
That little exchange made me think. I contacted the regiment’s museum, and with their help I came to understand what I actually had. I learned how to price the buckle properly and, at the same time, place it in an environment where the right buyer might actually find it.
So there the buckle remains.
And had that gentleman possessed a few manners, he might well have bought it for €15.
